It has been reported that filmmaker Neeraj Pandey's 'Aiyaary' will showcase the infamous Adarsh Society Scam. Now, BT has learnt that the film also delves deep into arms deal lobbies. The film puts spotlight on the grave issue of the purchase of ammunition and the role lobbies play in the deals. The Sidharth Malhotra-Manoj Bajpayee starrer, set against the backdrop of the Armed Forces, offered a few glimpses of its plotline in the trailer, hinting at the arms deal scam, which makes it one of the first Indian films to explore the subject on the big screen. Known for movies like A Wednesday and Special 26, Neeraj got the nod from the Ministry of Defence and the Censor Board on Tuesday evening for his thriller that opens on February 16 . The film's trailer was released in December last year and it was originally expected to release on January 25, a day before Republic Day. It was also clashing with Akshay Kumar's 'Padman'. Both the films, individually decided to move their dates to give Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat' a clear two-week window. Eventually, with the Ministry of Defence requesting for a screening and raising objections to certain portions in the film, 'Aiyaary' was pushed to February 16.
