‘Padmaavat’ audience review: Public applauds the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film while denouncing protest

As planned, the Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoorand Ranveer Singh starrer 'Padmaavat', finally hit the theatres all across the country. The good news is, amidst all the controversy and tension; people have welcomed the historical drama with open arms.
Most of the cine goers have given the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial the thumbs up. While Ranveer Singh's portrayal of Sultan Alauddin Khilji seems to have won over everyone, Deepika and Shahid's performances too were appreciated. One enthusiastic cine lover said, "The scale of 'Padmaavat' is greater than that of 'Bajirao Mastani'." One viewer also compared the movie to the SS Rajamouli epic 'Baahubali' as she said, "After 'Baahubali' if you would love to watch a movie like that, then it's definitely 'Padmaavat'."
Another one was in awe of Ranveer's menacing performance saying, "He has played Khilji amazingly well." Many others too were in praise of the Bollywoodlivewire with another saying, "He's pulled off the dark role really well and he was perfect for the role." When asked about the controversy surrounding 'Padmaavat', the public clearly felt that the allegations were "baseless" and denounced the activities of the fringe groups. One cinema patron said, "Deepika had said earlier itself that she has no scene with Ranveer. So I think the controversy surrounding the movie was pointless." While another felt that 'Padmaavat' was in fact all about glorifying the valour of the Rajputs as they said, "The film has shown the Rajput's valour and bravery. It portrayed their courage and how they're absolutely fearless. So, all controversy surrounding the film was baseless."
Overall, amidst all the tension and tight security, it looks like Bhansali and team have scored another win with 'Padmaavat'.
